Wizz Air Launches New Direct Route from Varna to Basel

Wizz Air has expanded its network from Bulgaria by announcing a new direct service between Varna and Basel, Switzerland. The new route will begin operating on 27 October 2026, with two weekly flights every Tuesday and Saturday.

Tickets for the new service are already available for booking, giving travelers from Bulgaria another convenient connection to Western Europe.

Located at the crossroads of Switzerland, France, and Germany, Basel is one of the region's leading economic, cultural, and transport hubs. The city is known for its historic old town, world-class museums, vibrant arts scene, and its strategic location on the Rhine River.

With the addition of Basel, Wizz Air now operates 23 routes from Varna to 13 countries. The airline currently has a fleet of 11 Airbus A321neo aircraft based in Bulgaria, including three aircraft stationed at Varna Airport.
