It serves as the main gateway to the southern Black Sea coast, including the popular resort of Sunny Beach.</p><p>During the summer season, the airport becomes one of the busiest in Southeast Europe, handling millions of tourists heading to beach resorts. It has undergone significant modernization with a new terminal opened in 2013.</p>

Bus line 15 connects the airport to Burgas city center. Journey time is about 20 minutes. Buses run every 20-30 minutes.
