<p>Sofia Airport is the main international airport serving Bulgaria's capital city. Located about 10 km east of the city center, it is the busiest airport in Bulgaria, handling over 7 million passengers annually.</p><p>The airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 (the older terminal, now used mainly for charter flights) and Terminal 2 (the modern terminal opened in 2006, serving most scheduled flights).</p>

Transportation

Metro

The Sofia Metro Line 1 connects the airport directly to the city center. The journey takes about 20 minutes to Sofia University station. Trains run every 5-10 minutes from 5:30 AM to midnight.

Bus

Bus line 84 connects Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 to Orlov Most in the city center. The journey takes about 40 minutes depending on traffic.

Taxi

Official airport taxis are available outside both terminals. The fare to the city center is approximately 15-25 BGN (8-13 EUR). Only use taxis with meters and official airport branding.

Car Rental

All major car rental companies have desks in the arrivals hall of Terminal 2.

Parking

Short-term Parking

Located directly in front of Terminal 2. Rates: First 30 min free, then 3 BGN/hour, max 30 BGN/day.

Long-term Parking

Located a short walk from Terminal 2 with free shuttle service. Rates: 15 BGN/day, weekly packages available.

VIP Parking

Covered parking next to Terminal 2 with premium services. Rates: 40 BGN/day.
